Double direction axial tapered roller bearings can support high axial forces in both directions. They have a flat shaft locating washer and two housing locating washers. Tapered raceways are machined into the housing locating washers. A spacer ring between the housing locating washers guides the two cages with tapered rollers and sets the axial internal clearance.

Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are used almost exclusively for the roll necks of rolling mill stands, calenders and roller presses. Because they are normally mounted with an interference fit on the roll neck, four-row cylindrical roller bearings are well suited for rolling mill applications where the rolling speed is high.

Because four-row cylindrical roller bearings can accommodate only radial loads, they are mounted together with deep groove or angular contact ball bearings, or with tapered roller bearings (either radial or thrust design) which accommodate the axial loads.

        Product BrandSKF
        MaterialBearing Steel
High-capacity cylindrical roller bearings have the high load carrying capacity of full complement bearings and the high speed capability of bearings with cage. They are designed for applications such as industrial gearboxes, wind turbine gearboxes and mining equipment.

Toroidal roller bearings (TORB) are single row pure radial roller bearings featuring slim symmetrical barrel rollers, which are properly profiled to give uniform stress distribution and proper roller/raceway contact. These properties keep at bay rolling friction and working temperature. Consequently, the lube film gap remains stable and the lubricant ageing process is slowed down, improving the application reliability. RKB toroidal roller bearings are conceived to be mounted as non-locating bearings, since they can face the thermal expansion along the shaft.

Thrust spherical plain bearings have a convex spherical surface on the shaft washer and a corresponding concave spherical surface in the housing washer. These bearings are intended to accommodate axial loads primarily, but can also accommodate combined (radial and axial) loads. The radial load component of a combined load should not exceed 50% of the axial load component. When radial loads are larger, thrust bearings should be combined with radial bearings in the GE dimension series.

Oil impregnated bearings are self-lubricating bearings that are made using powder metallurgy technology, where metal powder is packed and heated to form a product with many pores. These pores are then impregnated with oil, which lubricates the bearing during use. The oil is sucked outwards due to the revolution of the shaft, creating an oil wedge that lifts the shaft from the bearing surface and prevents metal contact. Additionally, the heat generated from friction causes the oil to expand and seep out, providing a cooling effect.

Radial shaft seals sit between rotating and stationary components, or two components in relative motion. They have two main parts. One is a cylindrical outer covering with an interference fit that seals statically against the housing bore. The second, a sealing lip, seals dynamically and statically against the shaft. Its sealing edge presses against the counterface surface of the shaft with a defined radial load.
