Self-lubricating bushings are designed to provide a maintenance-free bearing solution without the need for manual lubrication. There are several types of self-lubricating bushings, including oil-impregnated bushings and graphite-plugged bushings.
Oil-impregnated bushings are manufactured through the powdered metallurgy process and are impregnated with oil in the final stages. These products are also referred to as sintered bushings or by a designation of SAE 841.
Graphite-plugged bushings are cast bronze bushings that have been milled and plugged with graphite plugs. The graphite acts as the lubricant and is used in applications where oil-impregnated bushings would not suffice, such as high-temperature applications or applications with heavy load-bearing requirements.
Another type of self-lubricating bushing is made of plastic, which are comprised of a homogenous blend of base plastics, fibers, and solid lubricants. These bushings release tiny amounts of solid lubricant during movement, reducing friction in the system.

A miniature deep groove ball bearing with a flanged outer ring is a type of radial ball bearing that features a flange on one side of the outer ring surface. This design enables easy positioning in the axial direction when mounting the bearing to the housing, eliminating the need for a step on the inner bore of the housing and allowing for high-precision processing of the through hole.
